The Annie Mae Jefferson Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation is uniquely supported by a dedicated, family-based team spanning three generations. Our staff includes immediate family members who are deeply committed to our mission, each bringing their own skills and experiences to the table. This multi-generational involvement not only strengthens our foundation but also embodies the personal connection and enduring commitment to honoring Annie Mae Jefferson’s legacy through compassionate care and community support.
The Annie Mae Jefferson Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation was established by Pamela Travis in 2008, following the loss of her beloved mother. Driven by her profound love for crochet and a heartfelt desire to keep her mother’s memory alive, Pamela began the foundation with her granddaughters. Together, they crafted and donated crocheted items to cancer patients in hospitals. What started as a small, personal initiative has since evolved into a comprehensive organization dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness and providing vital resources to those in need.
The Annie Mae Jefferson Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation honors the legacy of Pamela Travis's mother by raising breast cancer awareness and providing essential support to underserved communities. We offer resources such as food, beverages, care kits, shelter assistance, and resources for free cancer screenings, while fostering compassion and ensuring that individuals affected by breast cancer receive the care and support they deserve.
